Republican reactions to Donald Trump's claims of 2020 election fraud

US President Donald Trump has been recorded telling Georgia's top election official to "find" enough votes to overturn the election result.

 "I just want to find 11,780 votes," Mr Trump told Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in a recording released by the Washington Post.

 Mr Raffensperger is heard replying that Georgia's results are correct.

President Donald Trump pressured Georgia's Republican secretary of state to "find" enough votes to overturn Joe Biden's win in the state's presidential election, repeatedly citing disproven claims of fraud and raising the prospect of "criminal offense" if officials did not change the vote count, according to a recording of the conversation.

Apparently, that may delay the official confirmation of the presidential election a bit, Deutsche Welle reports. The inauguration on January 20 is not in question.
On Wednesday, January 6, the American Congress should confirm the outcome of the presidential elections and the victory of Joseph Biden.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz on Jan. 2 said he will spearhead a drive by nearly a dozen Republican senators to challenge President-elect Joe Biden's victory when Electoral College results are tallied in Congress on Jan. 6 - a largely symbolic move that has virtually no chance of preventing Biden from taking office.   

A top Georgia elections official on Dec. 1 lashed out angrily at the rhetoric surrounding the election and the threats of violence that have resulted, specifically calling on President Donald Trump to rein in his supporters.

"Certainly I will. Certainly I will. And you know that. But I think a lot more will happen before January 20. A lot of things. A huge scam has been discovered. It's like we're a third world country," he said.
Trump also said that it would be difficult to accept the election results under such circumstances.

President Donald Trump said on Nov. 26 that he will leave the White House if the Electoral College formalizes President-Elect Joe Biden's victory- even as he insisted such a decision would be a "mistake"- as he spent his Thanksgiving renewing baseless claims that "massive fraud" and crooked officials in battleground states caused his election defeat.
