Greek champion Olympiakos Piraeus on Thursday named Besnik Hasi as the club's new coach, the Kosovo Albanian setting an immediate target of reaching the Champions League group stages.

Hasi, 45, signed a two-year-contract with the Super League club after several days of talks, and he replaces previous boss Takis Lemonis.

Galatasaray is set to part ways with Italian coach Cesare Prandelli in the wake of a defeat that ended the Istanbul club’s European campaign this season.

The club was expected to officially announce the decision late yesterday following a board meeting, and a Turkish coach is expected to replace the Italian for the rest of the season.

Galatasaray starts its Champions League campaign with a home match against Anderlecht tonight in the opening game of a tough group that includes title hopefuls Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.

After Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, it will be Galatasaray's turn to battle out with Arsenal in the top European competition as the Champions League group stage draw was made in Monaco on Aug. 29. The Gunners have will travel for a third time to Istanbul within a year and will have consecutively faced Turkey's three big football clubs.
