BELGRADE - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a federal law on ratifying an agreement between Russia and Syria on the deployment of an aviation group of the Russian armed forces in the Syrian Arab Republic, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

Russia has said it will press on with a bombing campaign in Syria despite a U.S. warning it will end talks on the conflict if Moscow does not halt its assault, amid the continued bombing of Aleppo.

Russia is supplying weapons to Damascus under contracts completed since the conflict in Syria began in 2011, as well as under earlier deals, President Bashar al-Assad said.
