For the first time in 30 years, a delegation from the Bulgarian embassy will not take part in the official ceremony organized by the Russian authorities on the occasion of May 24 in front of the monument to the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius in Moscow.

Acclaimed Albanian cellist Renato Ripo and award-wining Russian pianist Philipp Kopachevsky join forces at the Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday, April 3, for a tribute to the great Russian romantic, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with a program that includes extracts from "The Nutcracker" in a unique transcription for solo piano by renowned contemporary pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev.

The Russian National Orchestra comes to Greece with a special autumnal program on Sunday, November 18, when the distinguished ensemble will be performing Camille Saint-Saens's Danse Macabre, Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 3 in D minor, the prelude to Alexander Glazunov's "From the Middle Ages," and Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Suite.

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Hangzhou comes to Athens as part of a series of events celebrating cultural ties between Greece and China on Monday, April 16. Conducted by Yang Yang, the ensemble will perform selections of Wagner, Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff. The concert starts at 8.30 p.m. and tickets ranges from 12-45 euros.

Turkey's world renowned pianist İdil Biret will interpret Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov's works at Rahmaninov's Museum House in the Russian city of Tambov.

The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and acclaimed pianist Vassilis Varvaresos join forces at the open-air Herod Atticus Theater on Saturday, June 17, to perform Yiannis Konstantinidis's Dodecanese Suite No 1, Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2 in C minor, Op 18, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 5 in E minor, Op 64. The concert begins at 9 p.m.

The respected Kyklos Ensemble will perform works by Alexander Borodin, Sergei Rachmaninov and Sergei Prokofiev in a concert titled "A la Russe," at the Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday, February 1. The show starts at 8.30 p.m. Tickets, which cost 10 to 15 euros (4 euros reduced), can be purchased at the concert hall, as well as at its box office (8 Omirou).

World renowned Russian virtuoso pianist Boris Berezovsky will perform piano recital on November 20 in Athens. The concert will take place at the Pallas Theatre in a program including Liszt, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff among other great composers. The talented 47-year-old has received world acclaim due to his unique technique and profound inspiration.

Pianist Evgenia Papadimas performs works by Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and Sergei Rachmaninoff at St Paul's Anglican Church in Athens on Thursday, October 20.
