Peristeri stuns Olympiakos too in Basket League

Peristeri added another major scalp to its collection this year, as after beating champion Panathinaikos a few weeks ago it defeated Olympiakos too on Wednesday, with the Reds appearing to sink into decay. Meanwhile Panathinaikos thrashed AEK on the road to mathematically clinch the top spot in the regular season with three games left to play.

Former soccer player nabbed over counterfeit goods

Police in Athens announced on Tuesday that they arrested a former Greek international soccer player last Wednesday after he was found in possession of counterfeit consumer goods.
According to reports, Christos Patsatzoglou, 40, was stopped by officers of the the DIAS motorcycle unit in the western suburb of Aghia Varvara.

AEK lets BCL Final Four ticket slip through its fingers

AEK wasted a glorious chance to make a second consecutive Basketball Champions League Final Four and will have to relinquish its crown after crashing out to Bamberg in the tournament's quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The Greek team won 69-67 on the night at the Nick Galis Hall in Athens, but this was not enough to overturn its four-point deficit from the first leg in Germany.
