The Longest Trolleybus Route in Sofia is Expected to be Launched in April

In April, the longest trolleybus route in Sofia is expected to be launched - 14 km. The infrastructure is now being built on Fridtjof Nansen Blvd, Cherni Vrah Blvd and Arsenalski Blvd. The trolley will be number 7 and will move from  "Lyulin" to "Manastirski livadi" quarter. The new trolley line replaces tram number 6.

The Subway and Part of the Ground Transportation Will Work on New Year's Eve

The metro and part of the ground transport in the capital will work on New Year's Eve night, reported the Bulgarian National Television.  Night bus lines will also be available to citizens, but some of their routes will be changed.

Transport services to slow down over holiday period

Public transport services in Athens will be slowing down over the New Year's holiday, operator OASA announced.

On January 1-3 and 6, buses and trolley buses will run at less frequent intervals, according to the Sunday schedule, while on December 31, they will start pulling off Athens's streets by around 9 p.m.

Luxembourg is set to become the first country in the world to offer free public transport. From summer 2019, tickets will be abolished for buses, trams, and trains in the small EU Member State. The Grand Duchy's public transport system apparently costs €1 billion to operate each year, but fares anyway amount to only €30 million (i.e. just 3% of the total operating costs).
