Svetoslav Kostov Is the New Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio

The Electronic Media Council (CEM) elected Svetoslav Kostov as Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio. This happened at the first vote in the media regulator.

Svetoslav Kostov received 3 votes and Mitko Dimitrov - 2.

Betina Joteva, Rosita Elenova and Sofia Vladimirova voted for Kostov.

CEM: Two Candidates for Director - General of the BNR Are with Incomplete Documents

Two of the candidates for director - general of the Bulgarian National Radio are with  incomplete documents, said the member of the Electronic Media Council Betina Joteva, who is chairman of the technical committee for checking the availability and regularity of the candidates' documents.

The Bulgarian Who Kicked a Woman in Berlin Subway Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison

The Bulgarian who kicked a woman down a flight of stairs at an underground station in Berlin in October 2016, was sentenced to 35 months of imprisonment by a German court, DPA reported on 6 July, quoted by BNT. 

The incident was recorded from Hermannstrasse CCTV cameras. The attacker was identified and soon arrested. The incident caused a storm of outrage in Germany.

Presidential Elections: Glas Naroden's Leader To Appeal CEC Decision

Svetoslav Vitkov (Vox Populi) and Ivan Velkov (the Greens) who were candidates for president and vice-president will appeal the decision of the Central Election Commission to take them out of the race, reported bTV.

CEC announced that Vitkov and Velkov cannot participate in the presidential elections because they have not presented the 2,500 valid signatures needed.
