Main opposition SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis and his husband, Tyler McBeth, have announced that their Greek wedding will take place at the end of August on Crete.

"T & S Wedding … We are so excited to welcome you all to one of our favorite places to celebrate this special day …. XOXO Tyler & Stefanos," an image the invitation circulating in the Greek media reads.

Opposition leader Stefanos Kasselakis has reaffirmed his belief that his SYRIZA party will secure the top position in the forthcoming European Parliament elections in June.

Recent opinion polls indicate SYRIZA trailing far behind the ruling New Democracy, with just over 15 percent of voting intentions.

In an interview with Kathimerini, SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis criticizes PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis for having a "complementary logic" to the ruling conservatives of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and declares that he is ready to sit at the same table with other progressive parties, as long as they respect the role of the main opposition.
