Balkan Telecom Regulators Mull Scrapping Roaming Charges
Balkan telecommunications regulators are nearing a decision to cancel roaming charges for mobile communications, Macedonian news agency MIA reported on Thursday.
The proposal, launched about two months ago, has brought together regulators from Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.
Greek teen arrested on charges of online blackmail
A 17-year-old has been arrested in Giannitsa, northern Greece, after being accused of trying to blackmail a young woman over the Internet.
According to the police, the teenager and a friend living in another country had set up a profile on a social networking site through which they attempted to force their victim to provide them with sexually explicit photos of herself.

Firemen battle blaze in woodland on Rhodes
A large firefighting unit comprising 30 firemen handling 13 fire engines as well as five water-dropping aircraft and two helicopters was dispatched on Wednesday to contain a large blaze that broke out on forestland in northwestern Rhodes, close to the village of Soroni.

Man faces Athens prosecutor over 27.6 mln euros in debts to state
The 42-year-old liquidator of a graphic design and advertising firm was to face an Athens prosecutor on Wednesday in connection with an unpaid tax bill of 27.6 million euros.
The alleged debtor was arrested by members of the Financial Police on Wednesday.
Air-traffic controllers voice stress concerns
An increase in the number of flights arriving in and departing from Greece is putting local air-traffic controllers under too much stress, their union said on Wednesday as it announced plans to launch protest action next month.
The union said that its members health and air safety are at risk and called for more funding for training, wages and equipment to be made available.

The payments that Greek firms received via PayPal increased by 30 percent in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2013, according to new data from the online payment company.
Analogue transmitters to be phased out from March 2015
BELGRADE - The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications has adopted the regulations on the transition from analogue to digital television broadcasts and access to multiplexes, under which parallel analogue and digital broadcasts will start on September 1, 2014, with the phaseout of analogue transmitters scheduled to start on March 1, 2015.

Google on Tuesday announced a plan to bolster Greek tourisms online communication tools, in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
