Turkey's first double-arm transplant recipient has made a call to all the citizens of the country to support organ transplantation, implying the surgery he had in 2010 as a "rebirth."

"I am 39, but my arms are 12-years old," Cihan Topal, the former patient who had his name written in the history of medicine, told the Demirören News Agency on Jan. 17.

A Turkish historian has filed a lawsuit for the return of 10 regimental starboards that were captured by the Tsarist Russian army in the eastern province of Erzurum during World War I.

Two Turkish lawmakers have met with Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu as part of efforts to save 18 Turkish citizens facing execution in Saudi Arabia over drug possession. 

Fevzi Şanverdi, a ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputy, and Serkan Topal, a deputy from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), met with Çavuşoğlu on Dec. 7. 

A police report described the attack against Fenerbahçe and Turkey midfielder Mehmet Topal as an "accident" and not as an attempted murder, local media reported on Aug. 12.

Topal's car was targeted as he was heading toward his home after training in the Sancaktepe district of Istanbul. All of the bullets hit the car but Topal escaped unhurt because his car has bullet-proof glass.
