PM Ponta: I accepted Valcov's resignation, but asked him to finalise Tax Code draft

Prime Minister Victor Ponta told B1 TV private broadcaster on Sunday evening that he accepted the resignation of Darius Valcov from Finance Minister office, but asked him to complete the new Tax Code, and that he also informed President Klaus Iohannis about that.

Romania Ex-Minister Returns to Jail

Romania's High Court on Wednesday placed the former minister and presidential candidate Elena Udrea under arrest for 30 days in a case related to the illegal financing of a boxing gala, in 2011.

Prosecutors say that Udrea spent around 2 million euro on a boxing gala designed to promote Romania as a tourist destination. The payment was disguised as a publicity contract.
