30th Anniversary of Wartime Hero’s Killing Marked in Bosnia
Srdjan Aleksic's father said on Friday that the tributes paid to his son, who died 30 years ago and has become a rare symbol of wartime tolerance, are keeping him alive.
As he arranged flowers on his son's grave in the city of Trebinje, Rade Aleksic proudly showed off a pot on which unknown mourners had written the message: "To a fellow citizen - a hero."
You’ve Got Mail: Bosnia’s Last Pigeon Post Office
Among the more curious sights in Trebinje, a small town in southeast Bosnia, close to the border with Montenegro and Croatia, the pigeon post office is surely the most intriguing.
It was the work of Austro-Hungarian officials who, at the end of the 19th century, after occupying Bosnia, ordered the planting of the immense plane trees that today are the main symbol of the town.

Popular Serbian Actor Nebojsa Glogovac Dies
Serbian actor Nebojsa Glogovac had died in Belgrade having been admitted to the Institute of Oncology ten days ago, which is when media reported that he was seriously ill and that his health condition was serious.
Glogovac was born on August 30, 1969 in Trebinje, southern Bosnia, into a family of Orthodox priests. The family moved to Pancevo, Serbia, when he was seven years old.

Actress Milena Dravic wins Golden Plane Tree award
TREBINJE - Famous Serbian actress Milena Dravic is the first winner of the Golden Plane Tree award delivered at the Festival of Mediterranean and European Film in Trebinje.
The recognition is delivered for exceptional contribution to the European and Mediterranean film industry and it was handed to Dravic by Director of the Trebinje Cultural Centre Dejan Bodiroga.
