Corinth-Tripoli highway to be shut down Tuesday night

The Corinth-Tripoli national highway in the Peloponnese will be completely closed off to traffic from 9 p.m. on Tuesday night to 6 a.m. the following day as an emergency drill is carried out at the Artemisio Tunnel.

The drill will close off the entire section of the highway from the Sterna interchange to the off-ramp for North Tripoli.

Artemissio Tunnel on Corinth-Tripoli highway to close on Tuesday

Authorities will conduct an emergency response drill at the Artemisio Tunnel, on the section of the national highway between Corinth and Tripoli in the Peloponnese, between 9 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

During those hours, both lanes between the Sterna and Tripoli-Voreia intersections will remain closed.

Traffic to be rerouted on Corinth-Tripoli highway at Artemisio Tunnel

Maintenance work at the Artemisio Tunnel on the section of the national highway between Corinth and Tripoli in the Peloponnese, will result in south-bound traffic being redirected from Monday and until Friday and 4 p.m.

Trucks carrying hazardous materials will not be allowed to travel through the tunnel between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Greek teams produced a patchy record on the opening night of the Europa League group stage on Thursday, as PAOK thrashed Dynamo Minsk, Asteras Tripolis snatched a draw at Besiktas and Panathinaikos lost at home to Dynamo Moscow.

Panathinaikos, PAOK and Asteras Tripolis through to Europa League group stage

There was a triple success for Greek soccer on Thursday as PAOK, Panathinaikos and Asteras Tripolis made it through to the Europa League group stage.

PAOK had a challenging task after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of its playoff tie to Zimbru Chisinau in Moldova. But the Thessaloniki side made light work of its visitors, winning Thursday's match 4-0.

Bridge on Tripoli-Kalamata highway nears completion

The Tsakona Bridge, the last remaining stretch of new highway yet to be built near Kalamata, is due to be completed by the end of the year, Infrastructure Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis said on Wednesday during a visit to the worksite.

The bridge will stretch over some 300 meters when completed and will cost around 19 million euros.
