At first sight, the village of Ahmici, near Vitez in the Lasva Valley in central Bosnia, doesn't show any signs that a terrible crime was committed here 30 years ago.

Commemorations will be held on Saturday to mark the anniversaries of wartime killings on April 16, 1993 in the villages of Ahmici, near Vitez, and Trusina, near Konjic.

The police department in Trebinje announced on Tuesday that it has sent a criminal complaint to the state prosecution accusing wartime commanders Zulfikar Alispago and Nezim Halilovic of crimes against Serb and Croat civilians in the Konjic area in 1992 and 1993.

The Constitutional Court on Tuesday rejected Nihad Bojadzic's appeal against verdicts under which he was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison for crimes committed in 1993 during the war in Jablanica and in the village of Trusina, near Konjic.

The Constitutional Court described Bojadzic's appeal as "unfounded".

The trial of Zulfikar Alispago, former commander of the Bosnian Army’s ‘Zulfikar Squad’, accused of responsibility for civilian deaths during a 1993 attack on the village of Trusina, resumed after doctors deemed him fit to attend.

Defence lawyers for Nihad Bojadzic, former deputy commander of the Bosnian Army’s Zulfikar Squad, accused of a deadly attack on the village of Trusina, claimed the judges were biased.

Former Bosnian Army soldier Edin Dzeko was jailed for 12 years over the killings of six Croat fighters and a civilian couple in the village of Trusina near Konjic in 1993.
