Eurogroup aftermath: Emergency meetings for Greece being prepared

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is in constant communication with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and European Council Chief Donald Tusk. Sources state that an emergency teleconference is being prepared with participation of all leaders of eurozone member states.

EU's Tusk predicts 'happy end' to Greece debt talks

EU President Donald Tusk said Thursday he felt that talks to reach a deal on Greece's debt crisis with its creditors would end soon with a positive outcome.

"Work is underway and it can still take many hours. But I have a hunch that unlike in Sophocles' tragedies, this story will have a happy end," Tusk said as he arrived for a two-day EU leaders summit in Brussels.

“Deal or default” was the dilemma presented by EU president Donald Tusk on Friday to the Greek government, as he prepared for an urgently called euro summit on Monday to deal with the Greek issue.

“The situation of Greece is getting critical,” Tusk said in a video message Friday.

Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday "Serbia had done much on the EU integration road and deserved to open the first negotiating chapters as early as June."

The prime minister made the statement after his meeting in Brussels with European Council President Donald Tusk.
