Momirovic: New era in Serbia-Uganda relations

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Monday Serbia continued to build economic relations with Uganda based on strong friendship dating back from the time of the Non-Aligned Movement and that Sunday's signing of MoUs between the two countries marked a new era in bilateral relations.

At least 25 killed in rebel attack on Ugandan school near Congo border

Ugandan police said at least 25 people have been killed in a suspected rebel attack on a school near the Congo border.

In a statement on Saturday, authorities said that the Allied Democratic Forces carried out an attack late Friday night on a school in the border town of Mpondwe.

Turkish bikers start touring Uganda

The Turkish Embassy in Uganda hosted a group of Turkish motorcycle riders on July 23 touring Africa.

The group called "Ride the Earth," has toured different African countries in the past, dedicating this trip exclusively to Uganda and its many unique attractions such as mountain gorillas and chimp trekking.

Turkey sends food aid to Uganda amid coronavirus

Turkey's state-run aid agency on April 27 sent food aid to Uganda to help the East African country amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) sent 1,000 food packages, including flour, beans and sugar, to Uganda, whose economy has been hard hit by the outbreak, according to a statement by TIKA.

Turkey gives $650,000 for Ugandan agricultural project

Turkey has donated $650,000 for an agricultural project in northern Uganda, an area battered by years of conflict and refugee influx, a diplomat said on Feb. 24.

Turkey donated the funds to Uganda through the UN Development Program, which is working on the project, Ambassador Kerem Alp told state-run Anadolu Agency.
