Suspicious package found outside US Ambassador home in Athens (photos)
Greek police have cordoned off the residence around US Ambassador to Greece, Geoffrey Pyatt after a suspicious package was reportedly found near a rubbish bin opposite the diplomat’s house. Mrs. Pyatt lives on Panagi Kyriakou street on Elena Venizelou square near the maternity hospital in Athens. A special bomb disposal unit has arrived on the scene to investigate the package.
New US ambassador gets official welcome in Athens
The official welcome ceremony for new US Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey R. Pyatt took place on the US 6th Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney, in the port of Piraeus south of Athens, Monday.

Rumors of US envoy's premature departure from Greece not true
US Ambassador to Greece David Pearce will host a Declaration of Independence reception on July 2, as July 4 falls on a Sunday.
Recently there had been rumors that Pearce would leave his post in Greece early, even in June, but this has proved not to be the case.
Pearce will remain as the US ambassador to Greece.
