A trade seal dating back to the Urartian era has been unearthed during archaeological excavations at the Tepeköy mound in the eastern province of Mu?'s Varto district.
Ahlat Museum Director Ziya K?l?nç said 18 artifacts had been unearthed in the excavations that ended on Dec. 29, 2014.

Van’s Iron age castle new ancient discovery
Academics have discovered a new castle dating back 3,000 years to the Iron Age in the eastern province of Van.
Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÃ) History of Art Department Professor Mehmet Top, with the help of village head Ä°rfan Yücel, recently revealed the existence of the castle in the YurtbaÅı neighborhood of Gürpınar district.
