Disney to debut its 2021 films in theaters

Walt Disney Co has said it will release "Eternals," "West Side Story" and the rest of its 2021 films exclusively in theaters before sending them to streaming, a show of confidence that moviegoing will rebound.

The company had experimented during the pandemic with debuting some movies on the Disney+ streaming service at the same time they ran in theaters.

Disney World in Florida reopens a bit- but no rides yet

Walt Disney World cracked open its doors on May 20, offering dining and shopping to masked customers but leaving the beloved rides closed, as Florida begins to slowly get back to business after a coronavirus lockdown.

Waititi to direct new 'Star Wars' film

New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi will write and direct a new "Star Wars" film, Disney announced on May 4.    

Waititi has shot from indie acclaim to mainstream Hollywood success in recent years, overseeing Marvel superhero smash hit "Thor: Ragnarok" in 2017 before winning a screenplay Oscar for Nazi satire "Jojo Rabbit" in February.
