Major Japan quake prompts tsunami warning, residents told to run
A powerful 7.5 earthquake hit central Japan on Monday, the USGS said, prompting tsunami warnings and authorities to urge people in the area to move to higher ground.
"All residents must evacuate immediately to higher ground," national broadcaster NHK said after the quake hit the Noto region in Ishikawa prefecture around 4:10 pm (0710 GMT).
US Embassy in Greece releases Natural Disaster Alert
The United States Embassy in Greece issued a bulletin warning US citizens living or travelling in Greece on Wednesday of the ongoing wildfires and the high risk in many regions.
"This high risk of fire is expected to continue in the coming days," noted the circular.

UNESCO, which published a report stating that the risk of a significant tsunami in Mediterranean coastal cities in the next 30 years is almost 100 percent, has added Istanbul to the list of cities under tsunami risk.
