Bulgaria Implements Emergency Ban on Insulin and Child Antibiotic Exports

Bulgaria's Minister of Health, Prof. Hristo Hinkov, has issued a crucial order prohibiting the export of essential medications, encompassing insulin, blood sugar-lowering drugs, and antibiotics for children. The decision, effective from today, November 2, will remain in place until December 31, 2023, aiming to address the alarming shortage of life-saving medicines.

On Thursday, authorities put Radovan Rakocevic from the town of Bijelo Polje in custody for 72 hours for the offence of spreading panic. Rakocevic had shared an article on Facebook from a Belgrade tabloid, Alo, which claimed that Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic had been infected with the coronavirus.

Montenegro's ruling DPS party wants its leader Milo Djukanovic to be a candidate in the presidential elections in 2018.

The Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda writes that the DPS main board will meet to consider this by the end of the month - and that the mood "at all party levels" is "unanimously" in favor of Djukanovic running.
