Selahattin Sönmez

Hürriyet newspaper was deemed worthy of six awards at the Press Photo Contest of the Year and the Turkish Journalism Achievement Awards, as photojournalists Murat Şaka was honored with three awards, Selahattin Sönmez bagged two and Selçuk Selman Özger earned one.

Photojournalists from Demirören Media have won 11 awards in the Press Photographs of the Year Event, one of the most well-established photography organizations held by Turkey's Photojournalists Association (TFMD).

The behind-the-scenes of main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's "justice march" to Istanbul from Ankara was published in a photo-book by daily Hürriyet photojournalist Selahattin Sönmez who had followed the CHP leader day by day during the 25-day march.
