ATHEX: Index sees small recovery after losses
After four sessions of decline for its benchmark, adding up to 4.44%, the Greek stock market rebounded on Wednesday, though not in the fashion that would have offset a significant part of recent losses. The losing streak may have been snapped, but it will take more convincing for traders to revert to the rising course of the month's first half.

ATHEX: Geopolitics takes toll on local market

ATHEX: Benchmark climbs for sixth week
In anticipation of the Piraeus Bank placement next week, the Greek stock market had a rather quiet day on Friday, at the closing of another week of gains for the main index at Athinon Avenue, the sixth in a row. The blue chip index and that of banks headed lower on the day, while the majority of stocks and the mid-cap index ended up with gains.

ATHEX: Benchmark expands for fourth week
Athinon Avenue ended its fourth consecutive week of gains on Friday with a minor increase for its benchmark that extended its weekly gains somewhat, although the first few hours of the session had promised significantly higher price growth. This follows the positive momentum observed across most other European markets and is expected to prevail for the week to come, too.

The sixth consecutive session of gains at the Greek stock market brought the benchmark not only to another 13-year high, but also above the 1,400-point mark, on significantly increased daily turnover too. All this was before the entry of the 300 million shares of Athens International Airport, which is scheduled for Wednesday.

ATHEX: Investors focusing on stock picking
For the third day in a row the benchmark of the Greek stock market closed with losses that affected half the board's stocks. However, on Thursday the turnover was significantly increased compared to previous days. Banks led the decline, with the exception of National Bank, while corporate results continued to dictate the moves of investors.
