Tempe rail crash anniversary to dominate this week’s agenda
This Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the deadliest train disaster that shook Greece. Federations have called for strikes and organized rallies to protest what is perceived as a systematic attempt to obscure the circumstances of the tragedy and cover up responsibilities.
A breath of fresh air for a cramped Athens district

The stigma
In 1994, Greek director Alexis Bistikas was the first public figure to openly admit that he was suffering from AIDS. A year later, this charismatic man, who was already known for his brilliant work, passed away, aged 31. It was preceded by the death of the then known fashion designer Billy Bo (real name Vassilis Kourkoumelis) in 1987.

Islands want to self-isolate
Local authorities, especially on the Greek islands and in regions far from large urban centers, are calling on the government to take further measures to ban the unnecessary movement of people within the country to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
