PM expects aid to business could top EUR 1.5 billion

Ljubljana – The corporate sector will need aid in excess of EUR 1.5 billion to cope with high energy prices, Prime Minister Robert Golob said on Monday after meeting with representatives of business associations. The exact scope of the aid will depend on how successful reform of EU energy markets will be.

Just weeks ago Golob said that aid would have to amount to a billion euros.

Conference on innovation highlights importance of cooperation

Ljubljana – Cooperation is the key to boosting innovation, agreed the participants at the Pan-European Innovation Ecosystem international conference, organised at the start of Slovenia’s EU presidency. There were also calls for cooperation between businesses and academia.

Poklukar urges vaccination to keep businesses open in autumn

Ljubljana – Health Minister Janez Poklukar made a case for vaccination to prevent an autumn wave of the coronavirus epidemic and potential business closures as he addressed the management board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) in Ljubljana on Wednesday. “I’m afraid of the autumn if we don’t have a high enough vaccination rate.”
