Serbia for strengthening of regional cooperation

LJUBLJANA - Serbia is ready for strengthening of regional cooperation and implementation of joint projects aimed at economic progress as one of the key factors on the Western Balkans' EU path, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday.

Dacic, who is taking part in a meeting of the Brdo Process, voiced satisfaction that European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn has made encouraging assessments concerning the relationship between the EU and the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released.

One of Serbia's key foreign policy priorities is the neighborly cooperation in the Western Balkans, reads the statement.

"We are aware that progress in economic terms is one of the core elements in the process of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans and that it will require a stronger connection and implementation of joint regional projects in a number of fields," Dacic said at the second session of the conference on regional cooperation.

"Serbia is fully prepared for this process and you can fully count on our cooperation in order to achieve the well-being of our societies and a better life for our citizens," the Serbian foreign minister pointed out.

Serbia strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms, and attaches great importance to strengthening stability and security in the region of Western Balkans, as well as in Europe and its neighborhood, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Thursday.
