Dacic dissatisfied with political climate in region, but hopes for improvement

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic is not satisfied with the political climate emerging in the region, in particular in Croatia, and notes that Serbia is in no way contributing to the deterioration of its relations with the country.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Dacic expressed the hope that trust among the countries in the region would strengthen in the years to come.

Preserving peace and stability is one of the priorities, Dacic said.

Recalling a statement by former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic that there is an "anti-Serb cliche" in Croatia, Dacic said that the position of Serbs in the countries of the region was "definitely more difficult" under such circumstances.

"I hope that, in the years that are ahead, we will strengthen the trust with our neighbours and thus create conditions for our people in the region to have fewer problems,"...
