BEC - partial results: Iohannis 54.81 pct, Ponta 45.18 pct
Christian Liberal Alliance's candidate Klaus Iohannis got 54.81 percent in the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, while incumbent Prime Minister Victor Ponta, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party - National Union for Romania's Progress - Conservative Party alliance got 45.18 percent of the votes.
UPDATE Voter turnout as of 21:00hrs, EET: 62.04 percent
Voter turnout nationwide in Sunday's presidential runoff election as of 9pm, when the polls closed, was 62.04 percent, according to data released by the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).
In the urban areas, turnout was 61.41 percent; in rural areas — 62.88 percent; and in Bucharest — 65.53 percent.

Romanians voted on Nov. 16 to choose their next president, with current Prime Minister Victor Ponta the overwhelming favourite to win.
