Eight hours - a new record for flight from Sofia to Burgas for dozens of Bulgarian air passengers on Saturday, reported bTV .

People, including small children, have spent hours in the metropolitan airport and they didn't know when they would fly. After several times their flight had been postponed, they finally had to wait for the plane from Milan, which was also arriving late.

Trial of Burgas Airport Terrorist Attack Fails to Start for 5th Time

For the fifth time, Bulgaria's specialized court failed to proceed with the case of the terrorist attack at Burgas airport (Sarafovo). The case was again postponed on 19th of June because of irregular summoning of some of the Israeli citizens injured in the attack and one of the legal entities.

Authorities have lifted the state of emergency in Burgas Region following a series of crashes that left traffic paralyzed along Trakia motorway and a bypass route leading to Burgas from central Bulgaria.

As many as ten villages in the municipalities of Burgas, Sredets and Aytos are still hard to access by car, public broadcaster BNR reports.

Burgas Airport to Reopen on Saturday

The airport of the coastal city of Burgas is due to reopen to flights on Saturday as some of the repair works are being finalized, its management says.

Work will continue on some infrastructure projects at the airport investment into which has topped BGN 12 M.

Its runways had to remain closed since October 31 as part of the investment project involved a massive repair.
