Lukoil Bulgaria Refinery to Get Fined over Air Pollution

Lukoil Neftochim, a Burgas-based oil refinery, will be slapped with a fine for contaminating the city's air with hydrogen sulfide, Environment Minister Ivelina Vasileva has said.

Vasileva has told the Bulgarian National Television the official announcement is to come from local authorities later on Friday.

Bulgarian Authorities Detain 18 Illegal Migrants, Two Smugglers in Burgas

Bulgarian authorities detained eighteen illegal migrants and two suspected smugglers after stopping a minibus for inspection in the city of Burgas on Tuesday evening.

The group, which had crossed the Bulgarian border illegally, consisted of men, women and children who identified themselves as coming from Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.

BGN 220 000 Stolen in Bank Robbery in Bulgaria's Ruse

Around BGN 220 000 in different currencies were stolen in a bank robbery in the Bulgarian city of Ruse over the weekend.

The robbers stole the money after breaching a wall of the subterranean car park located under one of the branches of Postbank in the city. Through the opening they stole the money placed on a shelf in the bank vault.

Russia's Ural Airlines to Launch Direct Flights from Perm to Bulgaria's Burgas

Russia's Ural Airlines will launch regular weekly flights in the summer from the city of Perm to Bulgaria's Burgas, on the Black Sea coast, TASS has reported.

The Yekaterinburg-based airline would offer direct flights from Perm to Burgas on Wednesdays from June 1 until September 21, the Russian news agency quoted a Perm Airport spokesperson as saying on Thursday.
