President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan set off for Germany on a short visit upon the invitation of Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss bilateral ties, Türkiye's accession to the EU and the ongoing offensive by Israel against the civilians in Gaza.

The two leaders had agreed on Erdoğan's visit after the Turkish president's reelection in May polls.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has called on Western countries to cease their silence and take a stand against the ongoing crisis in Gaza, labeling it a "crime against humanity."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a visit to cancer patients transferred to Türkiye from Gaza and receiving treatment in Ankara.

Erdoğan arrived at the Oncology Hospital, where patients are being treated, joined by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, the hospital's Chief Physician, and doctors.

Herzog said the Israeli government is considering many ideas on how to manage Gaza after the end of the conflict with the Palestinian militant group Hamas. "If we withdraw, then who will take over the area? We cannot leave a vacuum. Nobody will want Gaza to become a terrorist base again," the Israeli President said in an interview with the Financial Times.

As demands from partners and allies in the wider region start to arrive in Athens, Greece is organizing missions and supplying humanitarian aid to relieve the civilians in the Gaza Strip more actively. Indicatively, a ship capable of offering secondary medical services has been requested from Athens.

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis will visit Ramallah on Thursday, where he will meet with Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Staiyeh.

 Israeli troops on Wednesday stormed into Gaza's largest hospital, searching for traces of Hamas inside and beneath the facility, where newborns and hundreds of other patients have suffered for days without electricity and other basic necessities as fighting raged outside.

The IDF says that members of the elite Shaldag unit and other forces of the 36th division found weapons at Al Shifa's MRI center, The Times of Israel reported.
Israeli forces fought Hamas members in front of the hospital and killed five of them.

Turkish first lady Emine Erdoğan has reiterated her call for an urgent ceasefire and a lasting peace in the Gaza Strip, which is the currently the scene of relentless Israeli airstrikes and a humanitarian crisis.
