Bulgaria, World Prepare to Switch Off for Earth Hour

Bulgarians and people around the world are preparing to observe the global initiative Earth Hour by switching off their lights for one hour on Saturday.

The Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for protection of the environment and raising awareness for the dangers of climate change, organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Constantine Koukias to present his new chamber opera 'Kimisis' in Sydney

Greek-Australian composer Constantine Koukias will present his new chamber opera "Kimisis" at Verge Gallery in Sydney from March 25-28.

A hit at Tasmania's MONA FOMA Festival in 2010, Kimisis is a gallery-style installation work written and directed by Koukias, a Tasmanian composer and opera director of Greek ancestry based in Amsterdam.

Poppies to commemorate WWI Gallipoli campaign

Thousands of poppies were being added to a memorial "wall" at Sydney's Circular Quay on March 3 in memory of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died in World War I's Gallipoli campaign.
      
The two-metre structure in the shape of a "100" marks the upcoming century since the April 25, 2015 landing of troops on the peninsula in what is now Turkey.
