The Bulgarian State Allocates BGN 2.8 Million for Repairs in Mizia, Dupnitsa and Teteven

Sofia. The government approved nearly BGN 2.8 million for the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the municipalities of Mizia, Dupnitsa and Teteven to overcome disaster damage in the three municipalities, the government press office said.

Bulgaria Warns Southern Neighbours Greece, Turkey of Floods

SOFIA: Bulgaria has warned its southern neighbours Greece and Turkey they could face floods as heavy rains are expected to swell the Arda and Maritsa rivers flowing into their territories.

The alert came as Greek emergency services were struggling to deal with their worst wildfires in years.

 

An Emergency Situation in Teteven Area because of Floods, a Man Died

A state of emergency was declared in the municipality of Teteven, Mayor of the municipality Madelena Boyadjieva told BTA. The reason for this is the worsened situation after the rainfall in the municipality last night, especially in the villages of Glogovo and Gradejnitsa.

Bulgaria's Teteven Mayor Under Arrest

The mayor of Bulgarian town Teteven, Milen Milev and his deputies have been arrested by officers of the State Agency for National Security (DANS).

The Regional Prosecution in Lovech has revealed that there are criminal proceedings under way against Milen Milev, Detelin Parlev, Levchana Hadzhieva, and Desislav Tsvetanov, but did not specify on what charges.
