Prime Minister Florin Citu said on Thursday that the first task he set for the new Minister of Finance, Dan Vilceanu, is keeping the government deficit below 7.16% until the end of the year, adding that he will not accept tax increases during his tenure. "I've completed the handover of the ministerial portfolio after 45 days of being the interim finance minister.

Prime Minister Florin Citu on Monday had a meeting at the Victoria Palace with a World Bank delegation led by Anna Bjerde, Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, in which he presented, among other things, the reforms undertaken by the Government regarding pensions and salaries in the public system.

The Eurogroup welcomes that agreement has been reached between Greece and the institutions on a policy package of structural measures, which aims at shoring up growth and addressing the underlying structural imbalances in public finances and paves the way for a successful completion of the second review of the ESM programme.

Deputy Prime Minister Giannis Dragasakis met with the board of Hellenic Bank Association on Wednesday to discuss the liquidity of the bank sector, the contribution of banks in the fight against tax evasion and the improvement of public revenues collection as well as the more efficient use of development actions.
