Vucic wins 71.6 pct in repeat elections
BELGRADE - Aleksandar Vucic has won 71.6 pct - or 2,468 votes - in Tuesday's repeat presidential elections, the president of Serbia's national election commission (RIK) Vladimir Dimitrijevic announced on Wednesday.
The repeat elections were held at eight polling stations, with 9,851 eligible voters.

Gabriel arrives in Belgrade, meets with Vucic
BELGRADE - German FM Sigmar Gabriel arrived on a visit to Serbia Wednesday afternoon to speak with PM Aleksandar Vucic.
He was welcomed at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport by Serbian FM Ivica Dacic and German Ambassador Axel Dittmann and then received by Vucic at the Mir residence.

Dacic, Gabriel: Good relations, successful cooperation

BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade are a step away from defending their title in the regional basketball ABA league after beating Cedevita Zagreb 84-73 (29-18, 28-16, 15-16, 12-23) at home late Tuesday to take a 2-0 lead in the play-off final series.
The reigning champions had a 23-point lead at one point in the game.

BELGRADE - Speaker Maja Gojkovic has called the second sitting of the first regular session of the Serbian parliament for Friday, April 21, the parliament announced in a statement on Tuesday.
On the agenda will be bills on biomedically assisted insemination and transfusion medicine, both of which have been tabled by the Serbian government.

Vojvodina vs Partizan, Cukaricki vs Red Star in Serbian football cup
BELGRADE - Vojvodina Novi Sad were on Tuesday drawn to face title holders Partizan Belgrade in the semi-finals of the Serbian football cup, with Cukaricki to take on Red Star Belgrade.
Vojvodina and Cukaricki will host the first legs on April 26, with the return legs slated for May 10.

Red Star take 1-0 lead in ABA league play-off final series
BELGRADE - Red Star Belgrade beat Cedevita Zagreb 81-66 (16-27, 29-17, 21-10, 15-12) at home in Monday's opening game of the play-off final series of the basketball ABA league.
In a confident display at a packed Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, the reigning champions overcame a 15-point deficit to win the first victory in their bid to defend the title.

Vucic: McCain did not request recognition of Kosovo
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic has reiterated US Senator John McCain had not requested that Serbia recognise Kosovo or impose sanctions on Russia.
In an interview with Happy TV late Monday, Vucic said McCain - who visited Belgrade earlier in the day - was a very influential person and a good friend of many important people in the US.
