A statue of the Macedon king Alexander the Great riding his horse, Bucephalus, has been taken down in Skopje airport.

The renaming of Skopje’s airport from “Alexander the Great” to “Kiro Gligorov” (former Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia -FYROM- president) proposed diplomats in the country, an idea that seems to be accepted by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev despite the strong objections expressed by Nikola Gruevski’s main opposition party VMRO-DPMNE.

Turkish airport operator TAV is in talks with banks to obtain $250 million of financing needed for the development of three airports in Saudi Arabia, the company's president Mustafa Sani Şener said May 16.

Istanbul Atatürk Airport, Ankara Esenboğa Airport and İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, all run by Turkish airport operator TAV, are among the world's most environmentally friendly, the company said in a written statement to mark its Sustainability Report.

Istanbul Atatürk Airport, which is operated by TAV Airports, became in 2015the 11th largest airport worldwide by providing service to 61.8 million passengers over the course of the year, the company said in a written statement on April 6. 

Turkish airport operator TAV aims to add one or two airports to its portfolio and boost revenue from its service businesses to compensate for the looming expiry of its contract to run Istanbul's Atatürk Airport, Chief Executive Sani ?ener said on Feb. 14.

The operating model and growth strategy of Turkey's TAV, one of the world's largest airport constructors and management companies, has now become a case study at Harvard Business School, said the company in a press release on Jan. 20. 

Ellinair has started to launch Thessaloniki flights from ?zmir Adnan Menderes Airport, the airport?s operator TAV said in a written statement on Oct. 7. The reciprocal direct flights between ?zmir and Thessaloniki will be performed twice a week.

Turkey?s TAV Airports has plans to pursue new acquisitions abroad in line with a company decision taken two years ago, according to TAV CEO Sani ?ener.

The Engineering News Record (ENR), a prominent publication in the construction industry, has named the projects of two Turkish companies, Summa and TAV, the best projects in their fields, the Contractors? Association of Turkey (TMB) has said.
