According to the index published by the Berlin-based watchdog on Wednesday, Albania and Kosovo are ranked joint 110th out of 174 countries around the world that were assessed in the report.

"Military ties significant for regional security"

BELGRADE -- Serbian and Bosnian army chiefs Ljubisa Dikovic and Anto Jelec say they are ready to further improve the cooperation between the two countries' armies.

This is in the interest of regional stability, the two generals said on Wednesday.

Slovenia still plans to build S. Stream pipeline

LJUBLJANA, BANJA LUKA, SOFIA -- The Slovenian company Plinovodi, a partner of Russia's Gazprom, will continue the construction of South Stream in Slovenia, Beta reported.

This comes despite Russian President Vladimir Putin and Gazprom announcing that the project was abandoned.

The head of the Ravna Gora Movement of Chetniks in Montenegro, Mileta Pavicevic, said that supporters and descendants of the WWII monarchist fighters have filed a request to the Interior Ministry to be officially registered as a non-governmental organisation.

Incumbent President, Traian Basescu thanked the Romanian military in the operations theatres in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the way they accomplish their missions, in a video-conference on Monday, on the National Day's occasion, at the Cotroceni presidential Palace.

As OSCE chair, "Serbia should back EU efforts"

BELGRADE -- Serbia will be in the spotlight once it assumes the OSCE chairmanship next year, says the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport.

The EU wants the country to back its efforts towards a resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, he added.

The suspects were detained on Friday in a police operation codenamed Palmira which was aimed at alleged terrorists and recruiters of fighters in foreign conflicts such as Syria. 

Around 900 police and other officials were involved in the operation which was described by the Austrian authorities as the biggest "in the history of Austrian state security".
