EU "lifts sanctions against Milošević"

BRUSSELS -- The European Union has lifted sanctions it imposed against former Serbian and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević, said reports on Tuesday.

Milošević died in 2006 during his Hague Tribunal trial, where he stood accused of war crimes and genocide in Bosnia, and war crimes in Croatia and Kosovo.

SARAJEVO -- The Election Commission has confirmed the election of the three members of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

They are Bakir Izetbegović of the Party of Democratic Action, Dragan Čović of the Croatian Democratic Union and Mladen Ivanić of the Party of Democratic Progress.

Bosnia Releases Ministers Suspected of Tax Fraud

The appeals court freed Federation Agriculture Minister Jerko Ivankovic Lijanovic and Federation Trade Minister Milorad Bahilj on bail on Friday ahead of their trial after they spent a month and a half in custody on remand.

Also released were three other suspects in the tax fraud case, Ivankovic Lijanovic's brothers Jozo and Slavo, and Bahilj's colleague Mirko Galic.

Bosnian Prosecutor Slams Media Fraud Suspects’ Release

The Prosecutor's Office said on Monday that it would complain about the state court's decision not to remand the suspects in the so-called ‘Gibraltar' case in custody.

"The prosecutor will also demand a temporary measure - the sequestration of all the suspects' property, their movable and immovable property and the freezing of their accounts during the [legal] process," it said.
