PM expresses appreciation for global business interest in Turkey at Davos

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu met with heads of the world's largest companies at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Jan. 20. 

Davuto?lu expressed his appreciation for international companies' interests and their connections with Turkey.

Bulgaria's Attractiveness as Offshoring Destination Drops

According to the global management consulting firm A. T. Kearney, the attractiveness of Bulgaria as an offshoring destination dropped.

This is shown by the seventh edition of Kearney's Global Services Location Index released earlier this week.

In the latest index Bulgaria ranks 12th, with the country having dropped three positions from its 2014 standing.

Turkey has ranked as the world's top country for the number of eye surgeries done annually according to a senior Health Ministry official, as over 40,000 operations are carried out yearly in Turkey, mainly on foreign patients amid rapidly rising demand. 

World’s first Sharia-compliant airline has arrived

Malaysia is launching the world’s first Sharia-compliant airline, Rayani Airlines. The low-cost airline follows Sharia rules based on guidelines available. Rules include mandatory hijabs for female Muslim cabin crew and non-Muslims must also be dressed decently.

Prayers will be recited before departure and alcohol is strictly forbidden. Food and beverages will be halal.

Turkey top manufacturing location in Europe: Report

Turkey has been named the best place to site manufacturing plants in Europe, ranking eighth in the world in a fresh report from property consultant Cushman & Wakefield. 

China has lost its top position in the world to Malaysia due to a rise in labor costs, according to the report, titled "Where in the World? Manufacturing Index 2015." 

'Sunni front' against terror is a bad idea

U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter has praised a new "Saudi-led Islamic anti-terrorism alliance" as being "in line with U.S. calls for a greater Sunni role" in the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). He was speaking during a visit to Turkey's ?ncirlik air base on Dec. 15, which came only a day after the Pentagon gave a conceptual briefing about the front to U.S.
