Turkey criticizes US over 'inconsistency and disjointedness' in Middle East

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has slammed the United States for the "inconsistency and disjointedness" of its policies on the Middle East, as one part of the Obama administration continues to insist on allying with Syria's Democratic Union Party (PYD), an organization that Ankara regards as an associate of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).  

India to ratify historic Paris climate change pact

India, the world's third biggest carbon emitter, was set to ratify the Paris agreement on climate change on Oct. 2 on the birthday of the country's famously ascetic independence leader Mahatma Gandhi.

India, with a population of 1.3 billion people, is the latest big polluter to formally sign onto the historic accord which now takes a major step towards becoming reality.

Iran showcases new combat drone, copied from US unmanned aircraft

Iran's Revolutionary Guards unveiled a home-built drone that they said was capable of carrying bombs, state media reported on Oct. 1, in what appeared to be another copy of a reconnaissance U.S. drone that Iran captured five years ago. 

The drone, called Saegheh, or lightning, was unveiled at an expo showcasing the latest achievements by the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace arm. 

Turkey Extends Syria, Iraq Mandate of Military by 2017

Turkish armed forces will be able to carry out cross-border operations in Syria and Iraq by the autumn of 2017, MPs in the country have decided.

Lawmakers in Turkey have approved an extension of the military's mandate with the approval of all parties except the Kurd-dominated Peace and Democracy Party (HDP).

Russia Warns US against Direct Aggression Against Syrian Gov't

BELGRADE - Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has warned the United States that any "direct aggression" by US against Syrian government will have tremendous negative long-term consequence for the entire region and would lead to "frightening, tectonic shifts" in the Middle East.
