Irresistible AEK wins Intercontinental Cup in Brazil

AEK is the proud winner of the 2019 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, a trophy it has won for the first time in its history to become the third Greek club after Panathinaikos and Olympiakos to reach for the global throne.

In the tournament's final on Sunday AEK defeated host Flamengo at Rio de Janeiro with an 86-70 score, after downing Americas champion San Lorenzo in Friday's semifinal.

PAOK dumps AEK out of play-offs; Promitheas in Europe

PAOK dumped Basketball Champions League winner AEK out of the Basket League semifinals and Promitheas Patras will play in Europe for the first time in its history, as the best-of-three first round of the play-offs ended for all pairs after Game 2 on Saturday. Panathinaikos and Olympiakos strolled through.

AEK hosts Champions League Final Four in Athens

The team captains of the four clubs that have reached the Final Four of FIBA's Basketball Champions League pose ahead of Friday's  tipoff at the Olympic Sports Hall in Athens. In the first semifinal at 6.30 p.m., Germany's Ludwigsburg will go up against Monaco, while tournament host AEK Athens will greet Spain's UCAM Murcia in the second.

Sports Digest: AEK to host Basketball Champions League Final Four

BASKETBALL: AEK has qualified to the Final Four of the Basketball Champions League after getting an 83-83 result at Strasbourg on Wednesday night to win their quarterfinal tie by nine points on aggregate. On Thursday it also found out it will host the Final Four at the Olympic Sports Hall in Athens, on May 4-6.

Two Greek teams make the Champions League last 16 (but in basketball)

AEK and PAOK grabbed the results they needed on Tuesday night and advanced to the knock-out stages of the Basketball Champions League. While PAOK did so in style, with a 21-point away win at Ventspils, AEK's advance was particularly dramatic, and determined a few minutes after the end of its game against Bayreuth in Athens.
