Bulgarians' Savings Up BGN 456 M in April 2014
Bulgarians saved a total of BGN 456 M in April 2014, according to statistics of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).
Deposits, including interests paid on them, reached a total of BGN 40.74 B.
Deposits of households exceeded BGN 40 B in end-March, when the total amount of money stored in accounts of natural persons stood at BGN 40.28 B.

Bulgarian Electoral Districts to Receive Ballot Papers in 6 Days
Gendarmerie and police will escort the cars transporting the ballot papers for the upcoming European Parliament elections to the electoral districts in Bulgaria.
Bulgarian Interior Ministry to Open Electoral Fraud Hotline
Starting May 20, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry will open a hotline (982-22-32) for any issues linked to election fraud.
The hotline will be open until the end of the European elections day on May 25, Chief Interior Secretary Svetlozar Lazarov revealed. Any violations that are reported will be submitted to the Prosecution.
Corporate Commercial Bank Acquires Credit Agricole Bulgaria
Bulgaria's Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) has acquired all assets of Credit Agricole Bulgaria, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) announced Wednesday.
A deal worth BGN 92 M, which enables KTB to purchase Credit Agricole's Bulgarian unit, has been approved by the Bank Oversight department at the BNB, Bulgaria's bTV channel reported.

Interest rates on deposits for the businesses are on the rise, according to the latest data of the Bulgarian National Bank.
Bulgarians Saved BGN 856 M in Q1 2014
Bulgarian households saved BGN 856 M in the first quarter of this year, shows data of the Central Bank (BNB).
Compared to Q1 2013, the savings increased by 29.7%. Broken down by months, in January the people put BGN 650 M in the banks, in February – BGN 114 M and in March – BGN 92 M.

Bulgaria To Set Up Mega-Authority in charge of Antitrust Supervision
After boosting consumer protection laws, Bulgaria's government will focus on strengthening regulatory bodies, according to Yordan Tsonev, MP from liberal party DPS.
In a Friday interview for Nova TV, Tsonev explained that the first step would be to increase the capacity of the Commission for Protection of Competition and make it more powerful.
Consumer Credits In Bulgaria On The Rise
Consumer credits in Bulgaria in February continue to rise for the third consecutive month, while the mortgages continue to drop, shows Central Bank (BNB) data.
The decrease in the mortgages is both on monthly and annual base, down to BGN 8.808 B.
