EU strikes deal with Turkey to stem migration flow – read statement

EU leaders struck a deal with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu at the EU Council in Brussels on Sunday where Turkey will help stem the flow of migrants to Europe in return for cash, visas and renewed EU entry talks. Davutoglu called the deal that was hammered out by diplomats in the previous weeks a “new beginning”.

Turkey, EU meet on refugee crisis

Leaders from the European Union and Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu gathered at a summit in Brussels on Nov. 29 with the goal of signing an agreement that will offer Ankara cash and closer ties with the EU in return for Turkish help in stemming the flow of migrants to Europe.

Davuto?lu, Merkel agree to solve problems with 'mutual understanding'

Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has announced that he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have agreed to solve possible problems within a spirit of mutual understanding.

His remarks came following a question about Greek Cypriot's objections to a draft declaration for a Turkey-EU refugee summit. 

Leaders of EU, Turkey to Hold Summit on Migration Crisis

The Heads of State or Government of the EU member states and Turkey will meet in Brussels on Sunday to discuss measures on managing the ongoing migration crisis.

The summit, which was convened by European Council President Donald Tusk, is expected to mark an important step in the relations between the EU and Turkey.
