MEPs Deem Russia Is No Longer EU's Strategic Partner

The European Parliament adopted on Wednesday a non-legislative resolution, which deems that Russia is no longer a strategic partner of the EU.

The resolution also called on the EU to critically re-assess its relations with Russia and devise a soft-power plan to counter Moscow's aggressive and divisive policies.

Romania's Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu on Thursday in Riga signed a joint declaration of Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia on natural gas transmission, as part of his participation in a summit of the EU's Eastern Partnership.

Bulgaria, Romania to Hold Joint Cabinet Session

The governments of Bulgaria and Romania are due to sit together on Friday in the southwestern Romanian town of Craiova, officials have said.

After the joint session Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is set to meet his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta and then the Serbian head of government, Aleksandar Vucic.

Norway to Grant EUR 126.6 M to Bulgaria under Bilateral, EEA Mechanisms

Bulgaria will be granted EUR 126.6 M for the next five-year period under bilateral and multilateral European Economic Area (EEA) financial mechanisms.

This emerged after political consultations between Bulgaria and Norway at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers, which took place in Sofia on Monday, the ministry's press service reports.
