Parties’ electoral eligibility to be ruled on by end-May
The Supreme Court is expected to rule by the end of May on the eligibility of political parties contesting the June 9 European Parliament elections, including the far-right Spartiates (Spartans), who are being prosecuted for voter fraud.
The far-right party is accused of deceiving the electorate as to its real leadership.

Controversially, among the 34 candidates was Theodoros Zagorakis, currently in his second term as an MEP representing ruling New Democracy.
EU nears final vote on landmark asylum reform
The EU will vote Wednesday on a vast overhaul of its immigration policies that would notably harden entry procedures for asylum-seekers and require all the bloc's countries to share responsibility.
The European Parliament will decide a series of laws forming the bloc's migration and asylum pact, based on a European Commission proposal first made in September 2020.
