A U.S. panel on Feb. 26 recommended Johnson & Johnson's one-dose Covid-19 shot for emergency approval, as some of the world's most powerful countries issued a unified call for better vaccine access for poorer nations.

Moody's on Feb. 24 revised Turkey's economic growth forecast to 1.1% for 2020 from a 5% contraction and 3.5% for 2021 from 4%.

According to a report published by Moody's, the country's rate for 2022 was also revised up from 4% to 5%.

The report noted gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to increase in all G20 economies.

Turkey and Azerbaijan have set a target of reaching a trade volume of $15 billion by 2023, the Turkish vice president said on Feb. 18. 
Speaking at the Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Forum, Fuat Oktay said that apart from the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan, the two countries are important political and trade partners.

It happened during his address at the virtual G20 summit

As a G20 economy and a vital geopolitical actor in the region, Turkey can show leadership in boosting the benefits of a digital revolution, said the founder of the World Economic Forum on Jan. 27. 

Turkish Foreign Ministry on Dec. 14 said that U.S. sanctions will harm ties, adding that Ankara will retaliate as necessary.

The U.S. Treasury Department on Dec. 14 imposed sanctions on Turkey over its purchase of the Russian S-400 missile defense system.

Turkey has deported nearly 9,000 foreign terrorists so far, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told the Group of 20 Summit on Nov. 22.

"Although we were left alone, we have nabbed nearly 9,000 foreign terrorist fighters and sent them back to their countries," Erdoğan said at the virtually organized summit.

Turkey on Nov. 22 expressed its determination to achieve a "fair position" within the scope of the international regime to combat climate change in an addendum statement to the G20 Leaders' Summit Declaration. 

G20 nations emphasized the need for global access to coronavirus vaccines at a Saudi-hosted virtual summit on Nov. 21 dominated by efforts to tackle the pandemic and the worst global recession in decades.

French President Emmanuel Macron told the G20 summit on Saturday that the world's leading economies should join efforts to create a system that envisions disturbing first doses of potential coronavirus vaccines to least developed countries.
