The point-based immigration system to be applied in the UK does not affect Romanians and the rest of EU citizens who have registered for special status, in settled or pre-settled schemes, but those who want to live in the Kingdom next year, when the post-Brexit transition period expires, British Ambassador in Bucharest Andrew Noble told an interview with AGERPRES.

The spokesman also said that Britain would keep reaching out to its counterparts in the European Union in search of an exit deal, and that the government hoped the bloc changed its position on the so-called Irish backstop, Reuters reports.
