Counterterrorism police in Turkey have arrested an Islamic State group suspect who was working at a nuclear power plant being built in the country's south, local media reported Tuesday.

The Russian national had been working at the Akkuyu nuclear facility under false identity papers, the Ihlas News Agency and other media reported.

The parliament's digital media commission is currently working on a bill to regulate and monitor the content produced by high-profile accounts on social media, with several platforms facing potential bans, the commission head has said. 

Turkish citizens who were stranded in Niger due to the closure of the airspace following a military coup in the West African country on July 26 have been successfully evacuated and brought back to Türkiye.

The European Union will discuss the issue of Türkiye's visa exemption in the upcoming fall, while Türkiye remains a key partner in many areas of common interest, a senior official from the bloc has told a Turkish news agency.

The so-called high-rank commander and the provincial communications head of ISIL have been arrested in the Central Anatolian province of Kırşehir, İhlas News Agency has reported.

"The two ISIL suspects were detained in a simultaneous operation held by the security forces in the province," the agency reported on Oct. 29.

The officials of the Istanbul Airport have issued a video clip celebrating the 100th year of the Dumlupınar Battle by forming "100" on one of the runways with three aircraft and more than 100 vehicles.

The number "1" was formed with three aircraft parked on the runway, while the two zeros were formed with 108 airport vehicles assembled closely.

The Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT), has neutralized two more PKK terrorists in the last incident of the surgical attack series in northern Iraq, İhlas News Agency has reported.

"Two terrorists were neutralized in the Asos region of the Sulaymaniyah province," the agency wrote.
