4 Bulgarian Districts under Code Orange Alert due to Heavy Rains

Code orange weather alert has been issued for four districts in northwestern Bulgaria for September 15 due to torrential rains.

The districts under code orange are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa and Sofia district, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Damage Evaluation of Flooded Rhodope Municipality Runs Up To BGN 1.5M

The estimated damages caused by the floods in southern Bulgarian Rhodope municipality come up to nearly BGN 1.5M.

The infrastructure in Hrabrino village suffered the worst damages. Two bridges were destroyed by the 5 meter high tidal wave which hit the village last week, Nova TV reports.

Code Yellow in 5 Bulgarian Districts over Hail, Torrents Friday

Code Yellow was issued in five districts in Bulgaria, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology with the Bulgarian Academy of Science announced.

In the municipalities of Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven and Ruse, cumulomnibus clouds bringing heavy downpours, thunderstorms, gale-force winds hailstorms.

Bulgaria Braces for 10 More Days of Thunderstorms, Hail

The heavy rains and the large hail that hit Bulgaria in the last week are expected to continue for ten more days, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The bad weather has brought thunderstorms and torrential rains throughout the country. Dozens of vehicles, houses, orchards and roads have been damaged due to the large hail.
