According to the preliminary data, in July 2017 the index of production in section 'Construction' calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data3 was 0.6% above the level of the previous month. In July 2017 working day adjusted data4 showed an increase by 7.9% in the construction production, compared to the same month of 2016, reported the National Statistical Institute. 

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2017 increased by 0.7% in the EU-28 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 1.0%, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). 

According to preliminary data 335 802 non-financial enterprises submitted their annual reports for 2016 at the National Statistical Institute. They generated BGN 137 139 million of production value and BGN 48 566 million of value added at factor cost, and employed 1 966 554 persons.

According to preliminary data the foreign direct investments in the non-financial sector as of 31.12.2016 amounted to EUR  23 491 million, which is 1.4% more compared to 2015, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Total Producer Price Index in Industry in July 2017 increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

In June 2017 compared to May 2017 an increase is reported for the production of:

 electricity - by 3.7% to 3 324 GWh, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

A decrease is reported for the production of:

 solid fuels - by 12.8% to 2 483 thousand tonnes;

 liquefied petroleum gases - by 9.1% to 10 thousand tonnes;

In August 2017, the total business climate indicator increases by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous month as a result of the improved business climate in retail trade and service sector, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

In July 2017, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 665.7 thousand or by 15.3% above the registered in July 2016, according to data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

According to the preliminary data in the second quarter of 2017 total turnover index in section 'Transportation, storage and post', calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, increased by 2.4% compared to the first quarter of 2017. A highest growth was registered in Postal and courier services - by 5.5%.

In the second quarter of 2017, 1 149.8 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips, according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI)
